What should we wear?

To me, the greatest value in photographs is to remind us of our own emotions. I want to create images that are rooted in your experience. Visually this could mean the image is light and bright, or perhaps there is a dramatic shadow. The aesthetics are secondary to the moment unfolding. That said, if decisions need to be made about a scene, I lean towards light-filled, soft, romantic imagery.

Can we bring our dog?

I shoot… Leica! Although somewhat uncommon today, Leica was the first commercially available small camera, invented in Germany in 1913. Modern Leica systems are digital cameras that record light, shadow, and tone very similarly to the magical, dreamy quality of film. Leica lenses are nothing short of amazing- sharp and with gorgeous color or black and white rendition. Combined with the convenience and speed of a digital file, for me Leica is an ideal tool. The cameras actually lack a lot of features, but this simplicity allows me to immerse myself in the moment as much as possible.

What time will our session start? How long with it last?

I started taking photos as a teenager, at first to have images to make oil paintings from and later to document the time I spent with my friends. By the time I enrolled in college, I knew I wanted to pursue photography as a career. I earned my BFA in Fine Art Photography from the University of Georgia and started my business shortly after graduating.

How

How long will it take to get our photos?

If the weather is bad, can we reschedule?

I know you’ll be excited to see photos from the day and continue to celebrate all the fun and love! Within a few days after the wedding, I’ll have sneak peek images ready for you, and your complete proofs will be ready within 2-4 weeks.

My fiancé and I have very different skin tones- how can you ensure we both look our best in our photos?

Properly exposing the images captured will show details in both the highlights and shadows in your images. These details can be enhanced during editing as well, so that no one area of a photo is too bright or too dark.

What is the process of working together?

What’s most important to you about the wedding day and photography? Knowing this influences how I approach telling your story, so that I can emphasize what you care most about as I document the day for you. Once you’ve shared what you care most about with me, we will create a timeline together with your planner to best accomplish everything on the wedding day.

What’s your style?

To me, the greatest value of photographs is to remind us how we feel in a particular moment. I hope to create images that are rooted in your experience, by being emotionally present. Visually this could mean the image is light and bright, or perhaps there is a dramatic shadow. The aesthetics are secondary to the moment unfolding. If you're looking for images that have a romantic, dreamy feel without being overly stylized during editing, and you're interested in the whole story of the day from getting ready through toasts and last dance or grand exit, then you're in the right place.

Do you shoot film or digital?

I shoot Leica! Although somewhat uncommon today, Leica was the first commercially available small camera, invented in Germany in 1913. Modern Leica systems are digital cameras that record light, shadow, and tone very similarly to the style of film. I learned photography on film, but I prefer not to shoot it for weddings as going back and forth between systems takes me out of the moment, and I find Leica to be the best of both worlds pairing stunning color with the convenience, speed, and security of a digital file.

How did you become a photographer?

I started taking photos as a teenager, at first to have images to make oil paintings from and later to document the time I spent with my friends. By the time I enrolled in college, I knew I wanted to pursue photography as a career. Will you work from a list of of special requests?

Absolutely- I want to be sure to capture everything that is most important to you. I recommend that you think carefully about the number of groupings requested, as combining and minimizing where possible will cut down on time spent doing step-and-repeat style photos. I have had couples prepare extensive lists and then lose interest if it takes too long to complete the shots or if it’s too hot/cold in the area chosen for photos, so knowing what’s truly most important to you from the beginning is key.

How long will it take to see my photos?

I know you’ll be excited to see photos from the day and continue to celebrate all the fun and love! Within a few days after the wedding, I’ll have sneak peek images ready for you, and your complete proofs will be ready within 2-4 weeks.

How will I receive my photos?

Once everything is ready, I’ll email you a link to a online gallery that you can share with friends and family if you choose. You can also use the link to download any images you want to access immediately, and I’ll mail a flash drive to you of the high-res edited images. I highly recommend ordering an album of your favorites as well, and I can help you with this process through an in-person or virtual design consultation. Detailed photos of styles and materials for your custom design are available in the album gallery here.

No matter what your background, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender is, you are welcome here and we celebrate your love.
